Accra Lions will be hoping to bounce back from their matchday 1 defeat to Kotoku Royals when they hosts Karela United in Accra on Sunday.
The Accra-based club suffered a 1-0 loss to Kotoku Royals despite playing well against the newcomers while Karela United got off to a good start with victory at home against Tamale City. Samuel Atta Kusi netted the only goal of the game.
Accra Lions are familiar with their opponents this Sunday, having beaten the Anyinase-based club 1-0 in Accra last season. Lions in their two games against Karela, have won one and lost one.
Karela United boost of experience, having played the Ghana Premier League for more years than Accra Lions and have the likes of midfielder Umar Bashiru, who can change the game at anytime.
However, Accra Lions can also count on captain Dominic Nsobila and defender Rich Sack. Abass Samari and Seidu Basit are all around for coach James Francis to work with.
Accra Lions are hoping to finish in a better position than last season, when they placed 12th on the table.
