Berekum Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 1:0 victory over Legon Cities on Sunday, March 12 2023 at the Golden City Park.
Legon Cities were hoping to end their five-match winless streak but a solitary goal by Fravien Kongoza for The Bibires in the 32nd minute ensured that didn't happen.
The game nearly suffered a dent when some home fans attacked Kofi Kordzi on the Cities bench. Calm was however restored and play continued.
Chelsea nearly doubled their advantage in the 65th minute but three brilliant saves by Cities goalie Sackey denied them that opportunity.
Maxwell Konadu brought on Kofi Kordzi and Adu Meider in the second half to push for the equalizer but the Chelsea defense was up to the task as they fended off the attacking threats from the visitors.
The win moves Christopher Ennin's side to 31 points on the League standings while Legon Cities find themselves in the drop zone.
