Black Stars to start serious training on Monday

Thirteen Black Stars players trained for the first time on Monday, 30 August 2021, ahead of next their upcoming double 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Qatar-based captain Andre Ayew led the team which also had Mubarak Wakaso, Richard Attah, Jordan Ayew, Samuel Owusu, Baba Rahman and Jonathan Mensah present.

The training session which took place at the Mac Dan Park in La, Accra was supervised by head coach CK Akonnor.

The number of players in camp is expected to shoot up on Tuesday as some Europe-based players were expected to flight in on Monday night.

Ghana will open their campaign against Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium in on Friday 3 September 2021.

Three days later, the Black Stars will be in Johannesburg to face South Africa.
