Ghana's technical team will be maintained for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the country's Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif has announced.
The government and the Ghana Football Association have agreed to maintain the current team for the global showpiece.
Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif has confirmed talks to finalise talks with the FA over the latest decision.
“The decision by the Ministry is that, the GFA should maintain the technical team that got us to qualify for the World Cup. The GFA is working very closely with the technical team to come up with the arrangements.
“Very soon, they would announce officially, led by Otto Addo, to take us through the World Cup participation and also the AFCON next in Ivory Coast.” the Minister said.
The current technical team was formed after Ghana's disastrous campaign at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Football Association appointed Borussia Dortmund trainer Otto Addo and he was assisted by Aston Villa U19 coach George Boateng and former Nordsjælland assistant coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
Former Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton was appointed as Technical Advisor to the newly constituted Black Stars Technical team led by Otto Addo.
The four man team was put together to take charge of the two matches against rivals Nigeria in the World Cup playoffs.
Following a series of improved performances from the Black Stars team in the two-legged encounter, the government want the FA to maintain the quartet.
