Ghana winger Samuel Owusu will be among eight players from the Saudi Professional League to participate in the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar if they are selected.

Owusu who plays for Al-Fahya contributed in the Black Stars qualification to the World Cup in the qualifiers.

The 24-year-old missed out on the playoff against Nigeria in March due to an injury.

The four teams in the Saudi League share eight players from two continents the Cameroon trio: Al-Nasr striker Vincent Abubakar, Al-Taawoun striker Leander Tawamba, and Al-Taie defender Collins Faye.

From the Ghana national team, Al-Fayhaa professional Samuel Oso and Uruguayan Martin Campania, goalkeeper Al-Batin, will participate.

The Peruvian Andre Carrillo of Al Hilal and Christian Cueva of Al-Fateh are looking forward to appearing in the World Cup for the second time in a row if they pass the playoffs.

4 main players appeared in the recent matches with their teams, namely, Tawamba, Fay, Al Celiti and Cueva, while some participated from the reserve bench, and others were satisfied with entering the list only.

And 3 of the Saudi League professionals failed to reach the World Cup, despite their role in sending their teams to the European Supplement.

These are the Macedonian Trajkovski who scored the killer goal of eliminating Italy in the play-off semi-finals, and his compatriot Alyosky, a player for Al-Ahly Jeddah, knowing that they lost in the play-off final against Portugal.

The Swedish national team, for which Al-Ettifaq striker Quaison plays, also failed to overcome the Czech Republic, losing in the play-off final from Poland 2-0.
