Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu has finally accepted an invite to the Black Stars ahead of the friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua later this month.

The 23-year-old centre-back has in the past rejected several call-ups as he concentrates on his club career.

However, after meetings with coach Otto Addo and the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, Salisu ended his self imposed exile to play for the national team.

He has been named in a 29-man squad for the games against Brazil and Nicaragua in France on September 23 and 27 respectively.

Brighton and former England U21 player Tariq Lamptey has chance to make his Ghana debut since switching allegiance and has been included in Addo's 29-man list.

Former Spain youth player Inaki Williams who has recently switched his international allegiance to represent the West African country has also been listed.

Germany-born duo Stephan Kofi Ambrosius and Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer are also listed in the Black Stars squad to face Brazil and Nicaragua.

Arsenal star Thomas Partey is making a return to the team having missed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Central African Republic in June through injury.

Hearts of Oak attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who has been in blistering form for the Black Galaxies in CHAN qualifications is the only home based player named.
