Mubarak Wakaso has been left out of Otto Addo's Ghana squad for an international friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua.

The 32-year-old, who joined Belgian outfit KAS Eupen on the final home stretch of the European transfer window, has been overlooked for the double header this month.

The Ghanaian gaffer named 29 players for the crunch pre-world Cup friendlies against the two nations on Tuesday without the experienced midfielder.

Wakaso has not been with a club for more than a year and just joined Belgian outfit KAS Eupen last month.

He is among a host of other top stars who have not found favour with the Ghana coach ahead of the preparatory matches.

It represents a further blow for the 70 capped Ghanaian - who is eager to stake a place in the team ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Black Stars will face five-time World champions Brazil on September 23, 2022 at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France in the first test game.

Ghana face Nicaragua four days later in the second friendly in Lorca in Spain on September 27, 2022.

Wakaso moved from the Ghana Premier League to Spanish second division club FC Elche in 2008 and later moved via the Villareal FC B team to the Villareal FC first team in 2011.

He played for Scottish giants Celtic where he won the league and domestic cup trophy in 2015 season. On the international scene, Wakaso has played 70 international matches for the Black Stars and scored 13 goals.
