2022 World Cup play-off: Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo optimistic of a win in Ghana

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has reassured Nigerians that the Super Eagles are going to Ghana for a win in the first leg of the World Cup play-off.

The Leganes defender joined the group for the Super Eagles first training ahead of their trip to Ghana despite shrugging off initial fears that he isn't fit to feature in the double-header.

 

Speaking to Naija News after the training on Tuesday, Omeruo said the boys are ready after the first 2 training sessions.

"The team is ready. Some of the boys arrived today and we’ve had a good training session yesterday and also this morning," Omeruo said

Talking about the rivalry amongst the two countries, he anticipates a very tough game.

“Nigeria against Ghana is tough, we know this and are ready to give our best and win the game”

Nigeria face Ghana on Friday, 25th of March in the first leg of the World Cup qualifier at the Babayara Stadium in Kumasi.

The second leg is set for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday, 29th of March.
