Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will switch allegiance from England to Ghana if the African giants qualifies for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 21-year-old is eligible for both nations and is yet to commit fully to either country.

The winger has rejected a call-up into the England U21 squad to fuel reports he is tossing with the idea of representing Ghana at the international level.

He has visited his native Ghana, the birth country of his parent twice in the past eight months amid reports he's interested in switching allegiance.

Odoi, who has represented England at the senior level on three occasions, is still eligible to switch per the FIFA regulations.

The regulations say a player can switch to another national team if he has only earned three senior caps for the original team before the age of 21.

However, Hudson-Odoi will switch allegiance to Ghana if the four-time African champions qualifies for the World Cup later in the year.

Ghana will battle eternal rivals Nigeria in a two-legged ties in March in the final playoff to determine qualification for the global showpiece.

The Chelsea winger will give all-clear to switch if Ghana secure fourth berth at the World Cup in Qatar.
