2022 World Cup qualifier: Cameroonian referee appointed for Ghana clash with Ethiopia

Published on: 01 November 2021

Cameroonian referee Ngwa Blaise Yuven has been appointed to officiate this month’s World Cup qualifier between Ethiopia and Ghana.

He will be assisted by compatriots Noupue Nguegoue Elvis Guy (Assistant I), Menye Mpele Rodrigue (Assistant II) and Bito Jeannot Franck (Fourth referee). Abdi Soud from Tanzania will serve as the Referee Assessor while Guish Ghebremedine Tuccu from Eritrea works as the Match Commissioner.

Hoebeb Joshua Andreas from Namibia is the Security Officer for the game with South Africa’s Ngwenya Thulani Khangelani operating as COVID-19 Officer.

Ethiopia will host Ghana at the Orlando stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa on Thursday, November 11, 2021.

Ghan have raised concerns about the match being played in South Africa because the race to finish first in the group is between Bafana Bafana and Black Stars.

Only one point separate South Africa and Ghana in the group heading into the final two games.

And should both teams win their penultimate games, Cape Coast clash will determine which country qualifies for the play-offs.
