The South African Football Federation (SAFA) is set announce a new head coach for the Bafana Bafana team in the coming days.

Over 200 coaches have applied for the vacant job after the sacking of Molefi Ntseki who failed to qualify the team to the Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon in next year.

SAFA's Technical Committee headed by Jack Maluleka have pruned down the 200 CVs received and is set to present the list of coaches that have been shortlisted for the job to the Executive Committee on Friday 23 April.

"They had their meeting, he (Technical Committee chairperson Jack Maluleka) is going to brief me, his recommendation will go to the NEC- the NEC will meet next week Friday. Hopefully we can finalize on the matter"., SAFA president Jordan told Sowetan.

"They must bring their recommendation and the NEC will accept or reject it", he added.

According to sources, some top coaches such as Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy, Eric Tinkler, Pitso Mosimane have been shortlisted for the job.

The Bafana Bafana will announce a new coach to begin preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

South Africa is in the same group as Ghana, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe.
