2022 World Cup: Switzerland friendly will be Ghana's last before kick-off

Published on: 23 August 2022

Ghana will play Switzerland in an international friendly seven days before the Black Stars' opening game against Portugal in Qatar.

The West African powerhouse will engage the Euro 2020 quarter-finalist as their final test before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which begins on November 20.

Both countries are taking advantage of their late start to the competition in Qatar.

While Ghana open her tournament with a clash against former European champions Portugal on November 24, Switzerland will face Cameroon on the same day in Group G.

Ghana will later play South Korea and Uruguay in their second and third group games respectively.

The Ghana Football Association has also lined up a friendly for the Black Stars against five times World Champions, Brazil, in September at a yet to be named venue.

Coach Otto Addo will get the chance to test new players before naming his final list for the tournament.

The 2010 World Cup quarter-finalist will be hoping to go a step further in Qatar 2022.
