Striker Prince Kwabena Owusu delivered an outstanding performance to help Bibiani Goldstars secure victory over Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League week 17 clash.
Goldstars and Legon Cities locked horns at the Duns Park on Saturday afternoon, where the home team prevailed with a win.
The home team cruised to a 4-2 win to ensure they finish the first half of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign on a good a note.
Before this game, Legon Cities had recorded four consecutive wins in the Ghanaian top-flight but Goldstars exhibited top performance to end their unbeaten streak.
Striker Prince Owusu scored a hat-trick in the first half to put his side in a comfortable lead in the game. He opened the scoring in the 12th minute mark before adding his second and third goals in the 29th and 39th minute respectively.
Before the halftime break, Kwabena Boateng pulled one back for the Royals as Goldstars went to recess with the advantage.
After the break, Prince Owusu led Goldstars to continue their demolishing exercise after grabbing his fourth goal of the match in the 78th minute to seal win for the host.
But one minute to full time, Kwabena Boateng reduced the deficit for Legon Cities, his second goal of the match.
The win sends Goldstars to the 11th position with 18 points whiles Legon Cities maintains 8th spot with 24 points.
