Ghana’s Black Princesses head coach, Yusif Basigi, has heaped massive praise on Comfort Owusu for her utility role in his team’s African Games win over Tanzania on Tuesday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The U20 women’s national team secured a 2-1 comeback victory over Tanzania in their second group game to qualify for the quarterfinal.
The comeback win saw Tracey Twum netting just before halftime, with Mukarama Abdulai sealing the victory in the second half.
One standout performer of the match was Comfort Owusu, who showcased her versatility by transitioning from midfield to left-back for this crucial encounter.
Coach Yusif Basigi commended Owusu's adaptability, labeling her a utility player capable of filling various positions on the field.
"Comfort Owusu is a utility player. We use her as and when needed. Even when we have the complement of the team, we don't start her," Basigi said.
"She can play left-back, right-back, left attack, right attack. But for now, we have some injury concerns and we had to re-arrange the team because you could see our two centre-backs were not in the team. We had to re-adjust that is why we brought her to the left back."
