Gifty Oware-Mensah, Chief Executive of Berry Ladies, has been elected as the Women's representative on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council.
The Outstanding Berry Ladies chief received an overwhelming endorsement as all 20 Women’s Premier League club casted their votes in her favour during the elective congress in Tamale after going unopposed.
The high-flying top football official is expected to play huge role in a bid to raise the standard of women football in the country. Her election reinforces the commitment to promoting and advancing women's football within the Ghanaian football landscape.
She is currently a management member of the Black Maidens and also serves as the Vice Chairperson for the Women’s Premier League Super Cup’s Local Organizing Committee.
Earlier, GFA president Kurt Okraku retained his seat as President of the federation after receiving 97.1% of votes, with only two people voting against his retention.
