2024/25 Ghana Premier League: Week 22 Match Report - Aduana Stars 2-0 Hearts of Oak

Published on: 16 April 2025

Aduana Stars put on a dominant display to defeat Hearts of Oak 2-0 in a crucial Ghana Premier League clash on Wednesday afternoon, extending their unbeaten run against the Phobians to eight matches.

The Ogya Boys took control early and broke the deadlock in the 31st minute through their captain, Sam Adams, who calmly slotted home to give the hosts a deserved lead.

It was a fitting performance from the skipper, who marshalled the midfield and led by example throughout the game at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro.

Despite Hearts' second-half substitutions to inject energy into the side - bringing on Yahaya, Boateng, Oppong Afrane, and Karikari - they failed to find rhythm or penetrate Aduana's disciplined backline.

Their best efforts were thwarted, and their lack of cutting edge in attack continued to haunt them.

Aduana sealed the victory late in the game when Ivorian forward Abdel Latif Bamba, introduced in the 78th minute, scored with a clinical finish in the 88th minute to make it 2-0.

The win lifts Aduana further away from the relegation zone and reinforces their dominance at home over the Phobians.

Hearts, meanwhile, drop crucial points in their chase for a top-three finish, extending their poor run of form.
