Aduana FC edged out Berekum Chelsea 3-2 in an exhilarating Bono derby at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday, further intensifying their rivalry.

The match began with Aduana asserting early dominance, with Alex Boakye breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute. However, Berekum Chelsea quickly responded, levelling the score just before halftime through Stephen Amankona, who found the back of the net in the 42nd minute. Amankona was not done yet, scoring again in the 50th minute to give Chelsea a 2-1 lead.

But Aduana were not to be outdone. Elvis Addo brought them back into the game just two minutes after the restart, scoring in the 47th minute. The match remained finely poised, with both sides pushing for the winner.

It was Aduana’s Godfred Poku Wakii who delivered the decisive blow, finding the net in the 72nd minute to secure all three points.

The win moves Aduana to 12th place on the Ghana Premier League table, while Berekum Chelsea remain 11th. The thrilling encounter showcased the fierce local rivalry between the two clubs from the Bono region.
