Olympique Lyon winger, Ernest Nuamah has made his return to the Black Stars squad for Ghana’s crucial doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The skilful attacker, who missed the previous matches due to injury, has been called up by head coach Otto Addo as the national team gears up for the decisive encounters this month.
Ghana began their Group F qualification campaign in September with mixed results. They suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Angola in Kumasi and later earned a 1-1 draw against Niger in an away fixture. During that period, Ernest Nuamah was sidelined by injury and was unable to participate in the matches.
Now fully fit, Nuamah is set to bolster the Black Stars' attacking lineup. His return adds an exciting dimension to Ghana's offensive options, and he is expected to play a pivotal role in helping the team secure all six points from the two matches against Sudan.
Currently sitting third in Group F, Ghana needs maximum points from the Sudan doubleheader to enhance their chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON, which will be held in Morocco.
The stakes are high, and the Black Stars will be counting on players like Ernest Nuamah to make a significant impact in these upcoming fixtures.
The games against Sudan are scheduled for October 10 and October 15, and Ghana will be aiming to climb the group standings and strengthen their path to qualification.
