Ambassador for the 2025 African Schools Football Championship, Asamoah Gyan, has admonished players who will be featuring at the tournament to take their education seriously.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the draw for the Championship, Gyan, who is a Ghanaian football legend stressed the importance of education, insisting that it must not be taken for granted because of one’s football talent.
“Education is the key. They should focus on education well. Of course, they have the talent, and it will follow later,” Gyan said.
In his interview, the former Black Stars captain commended CAF and its President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, for introducing the African Schools Football Championship.
“It’s a good initiative. Kudos to CAF and well done to the President himself,” Asamoah Gyan said.
The Ghana legend added, “Africa Schools Football Championship is a great initiative. This is the third edition that Ghana is hosting, and I’m very happy to be part of it.”
The 2025 African Schools Championship is scheduled to kick off in Accra, Ghana, on April 23.
The final of the tournament which will be staged at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra will be played on April 26.
