2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Match Preview - Asante Kotoko vs Elmina Sharks

Published on: 18 July 2021

Elmina Sharks will be hoping for victory against Asante Kotoko to avoid being relegated from the Ghana Premier League.

With 38 points and occupying 16th position on the table, victory at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday is non-negotiable for Sharks.

A victory will be enough for them as two teams - Liberty Professionals and King Faisal - above them in relegation fight play against each other.

For Kotoko, they will be playing for pride after losing the league to sworn rivals Hearts of Oak.

The Porcupine Warriors will receive 40 medals and a cheque of 180,000 Ghana cedis for finishing second in the league.

Kotoko are more concern about winning MTN FA Cup and are likely not to risk key players against Sharks, thereby giving them enough rest for next week's quarterfinals clash with Berekum Chelsea.
