Abdul Fatawu deserves his hat-trick against Southampton – Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca

The manager of Leicester City Enzo Maresca says Abdul Fatawu Issahaku deserves to score his three goals for the Foxes in their thumping win over Southampton on Tuesday night.

Despite this praise, Maresca still emphasized that the 20-year-old Black Stars midfielder has a lot to learn to become a finished product.

The victory on Tuesday night propelled the Foxes four points clear at the top of the Championship, placing them in a strong position for promotion to the Premier League.

Leicester needs just one win from their remaining two games to secure promotion, with the possibility of also ascending if Leeds United falter against QPR on Friday.

"He deserves it," Maresca told BBC. "He needs to learn how to manage himself, but the performance was very good."

Leicester dominated the game, with the Ghanaian opening the scoring and Ndidi doubling the lead. Issahaku showcased his skill with a brilliant hit, securing his fifth league goal.

He completed a hat-trick, while also assisting Vardy in a 5-0 victory for Enzo Maresca's side against Southampton.
