Olympique Marseille legend Abedi Ayew 'Pele' will watch his son Andre in next week's Uefa Champions League tie against Arsenal.

Abedi has confirmed he will be in the stands at the Stade Velodrome on Wednesday in the Group F fixture.

Andre, 21, scored a double in Marseille's last Group match against Borussia Dortmund but his junior brother Jordan is suspended for tie.

The 19-year-old was sent off for receiving two yellow cards.

Didier Deschamps' side hold a 100% record in the Group and Abedi wants to witness an extension to their winning run.

"Marseille are not having a good start to the Ligue 1 season. I support Marseille and I want them to win. It will be a difficult game but hope the better side win, " he said.

"I will watch the game from the stands."

The three-time African Footballer of Year recipient was decorated with the prestigious Golden Foot award at a ceremony in Monte Carlo on Monday night.

Abedi Pele helped Marseille to lift the Uefa Champions League trophy in 1993.
