Aboubakar Ouattara lacks the spirit to lead Hearts of Oak - Mohammed Polo

Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has expressed strong concerns about the leadership of current head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, following the club’s disappointing start to the Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians were stunned in their opener, losing 1-0 at home to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars, a result that has cast doubt on Ouattara's ability to lead the team.

Polo, a revered figure in Hearts of Oak's history, believes that Ouattara lacks the necessary qualities to steer the club to success.

Speaking to Bryt FM, Polo criticised the coach for failing to promise the league title before the season began, something he believes is essential for a club of Hearts of Oak’s stature.

“Aboubakar Ouattara cannot help Hearts of Oak because he lacks control and the spirit to lead the club. He nearly took the team to relegation last season. He deserves to be sacked for not being able to promise the Premier League title this season,” Polo said.

With Hearts of Oak set to face Heart of Lions in their next match, pressure is mounting on Ouattara to deliver a turnaround in fortunes.
