Ex-Ghana goalkeeper Abubakari Damba has taken a stinging potshot at Stephen Adams for his ‘unprofessional and infantile’ attitude during the Black Stars 3-1 win over Guinea in the qualifying reverse fixture of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 25-year-old has come under massive criticism for the ‘juvenile’ antics he displayed in post during the nervy win at the packed Tamale stadium on Wednesday.

The Aduana Stars shot-stopper employed what many have labeled as outmoded tactics to delay the game to the displeasure of many local fans.

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Abubakar Damba has launched a blistering attack on the shot-stopper for his weak and infantile mentality.

“Truth must be told and I will not mince words at all. What Stephen Adams did was absolutely unprofessional and infantile and I have owe him no apologies,” he fumed on Happy FM

“In this modern era, I was shocked to see what he was doing in post.

“I am even surprised he did not attract a card for the deliberate attempt to delay the game.

“Those tactics are outmoded and out of touch with the modern trend of the game. I have one advise for him. If he wants to aspire to higher heights, he must shun this negative attitude.

“I will urge the authorities to look at other goalkeepers including Joseph Addo, Mozart Adjetey and Robert Dabuo. They are all doing well and must be monitored to bring competition.”

Adams could lose the number one spot to Norwegian-based Adam Kwarasey when he returns for the next game against Uganda in Kampala next month.
