AC Milan back on the trail of Porto star

AC Milan have reignited their interest in Belgian midfielder Giannelli Imbula, who currently plies his trade at Portuguese side Porto.

The Rossoneri went to extreme lengths during the summer to try and capture the former Marseille man, even battling against arch rivals Inter, though they were eventually beaten by the Dragoes offer of €20 million for his services.

However, it now seems that after being left out of the squad for the past four matches, Imbula might be on the move once more; TuttoMercatoWeb report that Milan will try and capitalise on the situation and tempt the midfielder away, as they look to bolster a weakened midfield.

Whilst Imbula is not considered untouchable by Porto, as evident in his exclusion from numerous games this season, it is believed that they are not willing to lose any players in the upcoming transfer window and would only consider an astronomical bid worth considerably more than that of which they paid in the summer.

Money should not be a problem for Milan, who are looking to ship off several unwanted players in January and could reinvest the cash to try and land the 23-year-old.
