AC Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo admitted that he was devastated after the Rossoneri lost 1-0 in extra time to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final.
The Diavolo had chances to win the game before Alvaro Morata came on from the bench to seal the double for the Bianconeri.
“We played how we had to,” said Montolivo to Rai Sport.
“There is a great sense of regret because at times we deserved it more. In games like this you have to take chances and we didn’t. They were clinical so we lost.
“I feel so disappointed, the team gave everything.”
The midfielder was also asked if the team now feels more disappointed with their Serie A campaign after they failed to match their cup performances in the league.
“Certainly because if we played in the league how we did here we would be talking about a different season,” added Montolivo.
“We have to draw a line under it now and evaluate the best aspects as we look to move forward.”
