AC Milan clinch signing of Serie B goal machine

Published on: 24 June 2016

Thirty goals in Serie B football last season has earned striker Gianluca Lapadula a big move to AC Milan this summer.

Pescara had looked to desperately hold on to the player but his departure soon became expected, with Juventus and Napoli also showing firm interest in securing his services for next season.

However, the package offered by Milan proved most attractive and Lapadula will be wearing the Rossoneri shirt next campaign.

At Napoli, he could have expected to be behind Gonzalo Higuain in the pecking order whilst Juventus were reported to be considering loaning him out to Sassuolo to gain top flight experience.

Lapadula has enjoyed a dramatic rise up the tables of Italian football, having previously been limited to clubs in Lega Pro before earning his break with Pescara in the second tier.
