AC Milan coach hit with touchline ban

Sinisa Mihajlovic won’t be on the bench as AC Milan visit Chievo on Sunday as he received a one match touchline ban.

The Serbian tactician was handed his punishment on Wednesday after being sent to the stands last week during Milan’s 2-0 loss to Sassuolo, and will now have to watch from a distance as his team attempt to bounce back.

Mihajlovic was sent off due to breaching his technical area to remonstrate with the referee during the fixture against the Neroverdi, where it was ruled he directed abuse towards the match officials.

In his post match interview, he continued his rant as he blasted the officiating as something that made him ‘very angry’.

The loss dealt damage to the Rossoneri’s Europa League qualification hopes although all is not lost, as they sit four points behind bitter rivals Inter with 10 games still to play.
