AC Milan contemplating axing Liverpool loan flop Balotelli

AC Milan are on the verge of dropping Liverpool loanee Mario Balotelli from their first team squad, according to reports from The Sun.

Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic was left seething after Balotelli appeared not to take his role as a stoppage time substitute seriously in the win over Genoa on Sunday.

Balotelli dawdled around the field during his two-minute cameo at the end of the Serie A fixture, allowing Genoa to score a late consolation goal in the 2-1 result.

"We should've scored a third goal and not risked at the end. It is also my fault, as those who don't sacrifice themselves for the team to the 94th minute will no longer set foot on the field," Mihajlovic said post match.

"It wasn't just Balotelli, there were another two or three as well as him, they know who I'm talking about."

The Reds striker has struggled for game time due to injury but if he puts in more efforts like this, it won't be long until his association with the Rossoneri is over.
