Italian champions AC Milan have announced the signing Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng from Genoa.

Boateng was co-owned by Milan and Genoa, but the Rossoneri have now successfully purchased the remaining half of his contract.

The deal was announced on AC Milan's official website on Wednesday.

"A.C Milan communicates to have definitively acquired Kevin Prince Boateng from Genoa C.F.C," a statement on the club’s website read.

The 24-year-old played a key role in Milan's title push last season and will be needed to help the Rossoneri win an eighth Uefa Champions League title next term.

Boateng has played for English Premier League sides Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur.
