Ex-AC Milan star George Weah has denied taking to twitter to attack Milan players over their 'abysmal' performance in the current season.

The former Ballon D'or winner insists the Twitter account which was used to chastise the Rossoneri players following their 4-1 humiliation at Atletico Madrid and exit from the Uefa Champions League on a 5-1 aggregate is a hoax.

Most of Milan's ex-stars have condemned the club's current squad for their performance but the Liberian star who is the only African footballer to have ever won the FIFA Footballer of the Year Award says the account used to make the comments is fake.

"The account @ weah_official, is absolutely FALSE. I spoke a little while ago with George and he confirmed the account is not for him and doesn't want his name to be used," a close friend of Weah tweeted.

Milan who were the last Italian club left in the competition were eliminated on Tuesday night.
