AC Milan Player Ratings: Colossal performance from Romagnoli

Published on: 22 October 2020

AC Milan opened their Europa League Group Stage with a resounding 3-1 victory over Celtic where Alessio Romagnoli led by example with some terrific defending on show.

The Rossoneri went into half-time 2-0 up through a Rade Krunic header following a cross from Samu Castillejo, before Brahim Diaz slotted the ball into the bottom corner when Theo Hernandez cut the ball across.

Celtic got a goal back through Mohamed Elyounoussi before Milan capped off their night with two of the substitutions – Alexis Saelemaekers and Jens Hauge – linking up for Hauge to grab his first goal for Milan.

Romagnoli stood tall for Milan and led them to the victory with brilliant blocks and dominated in the air. He never put a foot wrong all night after only his second start of the season.
