AC Milan sale to be completed in 2016

The group leading the purchase of AC Milan, Sino-Europe Sports, have confirmed they plan to complete it by the end of the calendar year.

Silvio Berlusconi sold the club earlier this summer and all parties involved have since been working to make the transition from Berlusconi to a new Chinese ownership as swift and quick as possible.

“We are in the final stages of the purchase and we have provided information about the project to our financial partners and other concerned parties,” the company announced via bloomberg.com.

“This is as part of the closure process which will be completed later this year.”

They also confirmed that the money Milan will receive from the sale will be processed at the same time, with a total of €100 million having already been transferred since the sale was announced.

While the Berlusconi family will retain 0.07 per cent ownership of the club after it is complete, vice-president Adriano Galliani is unlikely to be connected with the Rossoneri.
