AC Milan striker could make shock Liverpool return

After failing to obtain any real playing consistency at AC Milan, striker Mario Balotelli could possibly make a surprising return to Liverpool at the end of the season.

Since joining from the Premier League side on loan in the summer, the Italian’s time with the club has been blighted by injury, with the forward subsequently making only eight appearances in all competitions, and scoring a meagre two goals.

Furthermore, coach Sinisa Mihajlovic seems to have found his preferred attacking duo in the pair of Carlos Bacca and M’Baye Niang, and Tuttosport have now reported that the Serbian would be willing to let Balotelli leave.

The 25-year-old made his return to Serie A on an initial season-long loan deal in August, and it had been reported that Liverpool would desire only an estimated €7-8 million transfer fee for his services, although Milan have yet to see just cause to sign the player permanently.
