AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has all but confirmed the signing of Kevin-Prince Boateng in January, insisting that his versatility will help the squad.

The Rossoneri are set to re-sign the 28-year-old on a free transfer in the forthcoming transfer window, after the player’s contract with German side Schalke was terminated on December 8.

“Boateng is a versatile player who can play many different roles,” he told MilanNews. “He is a good player and I think he can help us in different areas of the field.”

Galliani was also optimistic of what the new year will bring for Milan, noting specifically the returning duo of Mario Balotelli and Jeremy Menez, whose recoveries from injury will be sure to improve the squad’s strength in-depth.

“Our forward line will be further strengthened by the return of Menez and Balotelli,” he concluded. “I still think Milan has a very important squad.”

Boateng previously played for the Rossoneri between 2010 and 2013, a spell in which he won the Serie A title, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana.
