Accra Lions captain Richmond Tetteh Ankrah joins Malaysian giants Selangor FC

Accra Lions captain Richmond Tetteh Ankrah has completed his loan switch to Malaysian giants Selangor FC. 

The defender has been instrumental for the Ghana Premier League newcomers but leaves for the rest of the season on loan.

He led the team earn their first ever promotion last season and won one Man of the Match in the Ghana Premier League before his departure.

“After all he contributed to our club on and off the pitch, we couldn’t deny him his chance for greener pastures even though we know that we will miss him sorely in the rest of our Ghana Premier League campaign!,” said team manager Ishmael Hamidu.

He joins Joseph Addo Tetteh and Rauf Salifu (both Sporting Kansas City), JordanAyimbila (San Antonio FC) and Fredrick Acheampong (CSKA Sofia 1948) as players to have left the club in the last two months.

Accra Lions sit 14th on the Ghana Premier League and will host Babiani Gold Stars on Saturday on the ytopflight league.
