In form Accra Lions FC goalkeeper, Fredrick Asare has expressed his readiness to play for the senior national team the Black Stars if given the opportunity.

He made this known after putting up a scintillating performance in his side’s goalless draw against WAFA in the Ghana Premier League this past weekend.

The 22-year-old whose performance in their recent games has stabilized the newly-promoted side has made it clear that he has what it takes to handle the goal post of the Black Stars and shall not turn down the opportunity when given the nod.

The former National Under 20 goalkeeper has been in creditable form for his club resulting in four clean sheets in ten games. His crucial saves ensured that Accra Lions avoided defeat against WAFA.

“It is every player’s dream to play for the Black Stars. I have had stints with the Black Satellites before together with Abdul Manaf Nurudeen. I have also participated in three tournaments at the under 20 level for Ghana, I have the experience to handle pressure and the confidence to wear the national gloves” Asare stated.

“My target for this season is to keep enough clean sheets, help Accra Lions remain in the Ghana Premier League and of course attract national call up and I think I am on course considering my current form”, he added.
