Accra Lions release video highlighting referee controversies in Dreams FC defeat

Published on: 08 January 2025

Accra Lions have released video highlights of their match against Dreams FC, following charges of misconduct over comments made on their social media platforms.

The comments came after their 1-0 defeat at the Tuba AstroTurf on January 5, 2025, where they accused match officials of poor officiating, calling it a "huge scandal" and hinting at undue influence on the result.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) charged the club under Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, stating that the remarks tarnished the game’s reputation. Despite this, Accra Lions have doubled down on their claims.

On January 6, the club issued a statement criticizing the officiating and alleging numerous wrong calls during the game.

Two days later, they released a video showcasing instances they believe highlight poor officiating, including disputed offside decisions.

The GFA is yet to respond to the video or the club's accusations.
