Accra Lions will adopt the University of Ghana Stadium as their new home venue following the abrupt closure of the Accra Sports Stadium.
The National Sports Authority closed down the Accra Sports Stadium for maintenance work following criticisms over the state of the pitch.
It is also being considered as a potential venue for Ghana's next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier venue for the game against Sudan in October.
This comes after the Confederation of African Football withdrew its approval of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as home for the Black Stars game, deeming it unfit to host category three games.
Accra Lions will now join Legon Cities in sharing the University of Ghana Stadium till the NSA completes works on the Accra Sports Stadium.
Before the start of the season, Accra Lions had opted for the WAFA Park as their alternative home venue but the unavailability of the stadium means Legon will be the preferred choice.
Accra Lions' next home game is against FA Cup winners Nsoatreman FC on Friday, September 27, 2024.
