Buriram: Brazilian Adriano scored four and contributed an assist as former AFC Champions League finalists FC Seoul from Korea Republic recorded an emphatic 6-0 win over Thai Premier League winners Buriram United at Buriram Stadium on Tuesday.

Adriano set 2013 runners-up FC Seoul on their way after 28 minutes of the Group F opener before adding a second five minutes before half-time.

The Brazilian completed his hat-trick five minutes into the second half, and after captain Suchao Nutnum was sent-off for the home side, Adriano added a fourth on the hour mark before providing the assist for returning Montenegro striker Dejan Damjanovic to score his 20th AFC Champions League goal.

And in the last minute, a fine backheel assist from Park Chu-young allowed fellow substitute Lee Seok-hyun to seal the win.

Adriano opened the scoring after 28 minutes at Buriram Stadium as the Brazilian beat the Buriram offside trap from Damjanovic’s pass, and after cutting back inside the penalty area to create space from a covering defender, curled his effort across the goalkeeper into the far corner.

Adriano added a second five minutes before half-time as the Brazilian again bypassed the FC Seoul backline, this time from Ju Se-jong’s pass, and with goalkeeper Siwarak Tedsungnoen charging off his line, kept his composure by chipping the ball past the advancing custodian before ushering the ball into the unguarded net.

And five minutes after the restart Adriano completed his hat-trick with a firmly-struck finish from inside the penalty area from Yojiro Takahagi’s through ball.

Buriram were then reduced to 10-men four minutes before the hour mark after captain Suchao was shown a straight red card following a lunging challenge on Takahagi.

Then on the hour mark, Adriano swept home his fourth from inside the area after Damjanovic’s cross towards Takahagi had rebound into the path of the Brazilian.

And before being substituted with 21 minutes remaining, Adriano selfishly played the ball across the face of goal for Damjanovic to tap into the empty net at the back post as the Montenegro striker marked his return to the club with a goal having helped FC Seoul reach the 2013 AFC Champions League final before spending two seasons in China.

There was still time for FC Seoul to add a sixth as Park’s backheel played in Lee, who fired past Siwarak from inside the area .
