Adam Lallana reveals he was booted out of Liverpool's WhatsApp chat ONE DAY after his exit

Adam Lallana has revealed he was chucked out of Liverpool's WhatsApp group chat just one day after departing the club to sign for Brighton.

The 32-year-old moved to the Amex Stadium on a free transfer in the summer after his six-year spell at Liverpool had come to an end.

Lallana described his time at Liverpool as a privilege and enjoyed the most successful time of his career at the club, winning the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League title last season.

The former England international was in the BT Sport studio as a pundit for Liverpool's Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland on Tuesday but said he didn't find it weird to watch his old side without being involved.

'It was the right time for me to leave and I found my new challenge really refreshing. I've gone from a player to a supporter now,' he said.

Lallana was then pressed on whether he was still involved in the team's WhatsApp group. 'No. You get chucked out,' he said laughing.

'I'm still in a couple of groups.

'The admin chucked me out (the main squad one) the day after.'

Lallana has been watching Liverpool closely this season from afar and admits he's been impressed with their summer business after new signing Diogo Jota scored his third goal for the club in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Midtjylland.

‘The recruitment has been absolutely sensational,' he added.

'[Diogo] Jota’s proven his worth so far, long may it continue.

'When I first joined Liverpool I tried too hard. It took me between a year and 18 months to settle in - the way Jota’s come in straight away is not to be sniffed at.’
