Adama Traore is close to winning his first Spain call-up, reveals boss Enrique

Luis Enrique has shared his thoughts on Adama Traore and the Spain boss revealed the Wolves star is closing in on an international call up as Traore deliberates on his international future.

Traore has enjoyed a breakthrough season which has seen the speedster score six goals and provide 10 assists for his team-mates to help keep Nuno Espirito Santo's side firing in Europe and the Premier League.

Those performances have put Traore on the verge of a call up to the Spanish international side. The 24-year-old grew up in Barcelona after his parents moved from Mali and he is eligible to represent Spain as well as Mali.

And Spain boss Enrique has heaped praise on Traore for his displays this season, revealing that he's had his eye on the winger since he was at the Barcelona academy.

'We have known him very well for many years,' he told Marca. 'When we were at Barcelona, he was in our plans.

'He has evolved a lot. He's a very interesting player. We are delighted with his performances.'

Traore is undecided on which country he wishes to pledge his international allegiance to. Last November, the Wolves star said he wanted to represent Mali but days later he received a call-up to the Spain team.

However, he pulled out of the squad with an injury and was replaced by Pablo Sarabia.
