Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman has expressed pride and gratitude upon attending the 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris.
The Atalanta and Super Eagles star made history as the first African nominee for this year's men's award, ranking 14th overall.
"It is very special for me to be here tonight, representing my country, club and family. It's a big achievement," Lookman said on the red carpet.
Lookman's impressive performances for club and country earned him this prestigious recognition. His standout achievements include a historic Europa League final hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen.
Je also played an instrumental role for the Super Eagles as they settled for a second place finish in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) earlier in the year.
This nomination solidifies Lookman's status as a top football talent, also making him a frontrunner for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award.
