Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman secured 14th place in the prestigious 2024 Ballon d'Or rankings.
The announcement was made in Paris on Monday
Lookman received his inaugural Ballon d'Or nomination, recognising standout performances for Atalanta in Serie A and Nigeria's national team.
He is Nigeria's sole representative and the only African player nominated for the men's award this year.
Lookman's impressive club and country contributions earned global recognition. His father and former youth coach accompanied him to the Ballon d'Or red carpet.
Lookman's achievements include a historic hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, instrumental in Atalanta's triumph. He was also a key figure for the Super Eagles during their campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 which saw them finish as runners-up.
He is now the frontrunner for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award.
Meanwhile, Spain and Manchester City forward Rodri clinched the ultimate award in France beating off competition from Real Madrid duo Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham.
