Boro boss Aitor Karanka is delighted that Albert Adomah extended his contract last week, agreeing to stay until June 2017.
“I am very happy he’s signed a new contract,†he said.
“I said last season that Albert is more than a player. He’s a leader in the changing room, he’s a leader on the pitch and he’s an important player to have in the squad.
“He understands his role and he’s always helping the team on and off the pitch.â€
Karanka believes that Adomah’s new deal sends out a positive message to the squad and to the supporters.
“It’s a good message because Albert is an important player,†he added.
“It’s a good message that Adam Reach has signed an extension because he came from the Academy, it’s a good message for everybody.â€
