Adriano named Toyota Player of the Week

FC Seoul striker Adriano has been named the Toyota Player of the Week for a second consecutive time after edging out Al Hilal’s Khalid Kaabi after netting a hat-trick as the K-League Classic side beat Japan’s Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

Having scored four goals on his AFC Champions League debut last week as FC Seoul beat Buriram United 6-0 in Thailand, Brazilian Adriano scored three times in the first 20 minutes of the second half as 2013 finalists FC Seoul claimed a second consecutive win on Tuesday after posting a 4-1 comeback win over Japanese champions Sanfrecce at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Adriano also completed 19 of 26 passes to attract a rating of 8.79, with Al Hilal’s Kaabi second at 8.76 after scoring twice as the Saudi Professional League side recorded a 4-1 home win over Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor.

Kaabi also completed 22 of 31 passes and won three duels to finish second ahead of team-mate Abdulla Al Dossary after the defender attracted a rating of 8.1 having also scored and completed 53 of 68 passes and won five duels in the win over Pakhtakor.

Shandong Luneng’s Jucilei, meanwhile completed a high-scoring top four after the midfielder attracted a rating of 8.0 after scoring, completing 54 of 62 passes and winning six duels as the Chinese Super League side recorded a 3-0 win over Buriram.
