Aduana Stars General Captain Emmanuel Akuoko has described the late Herbert Addo as the most influential coach in his career.

Akuoko was one of the key players deployed by the tactician to conquer the local scene.

Addo guided the Dormaa-based side to win their historic Ghana Premier League title in 2010 as the lowest scoring side in the top-flight.

''The late Herbert Addo will be my all-time best coach. He was a teacher who teaches you to your understanding,'' Akuoko paid tribute on Kumasi-based Opemsuo FM.

''He was the one who will prepare food for us before match days. He spoke to us just like his children.

''He used to play me at different positions because he told me that he has seen Michael Essien in me.''

Addo died in 2017 at age 65.

He also won the league titles with Asante Kotoko (1988), twice with Goldfields S.C now AshantiGold (1994/95 and 1995/96) and Hearts of Oak (2002) and Aduana Stars (2010).
