Aduana Stars sack coach Yusif Abubakar, Scottish Frank Nuttall set to take over

Published on: 04 June 2018

Aduana Stars have parted ways with Yusif  Abubakar with ex-Hearts of Oak coach  Frank Elliot Nuttall in pole position to replace him, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

The decision was taken on Monday by the club's top hierarchy to part ways with the former Medeama and Berekum Chelsea trainer.

GHANAsoccernet.com revealed exclusively on Monday morning that the experienced Ghanaian gaffer is on his way out of the club amid growing disquiet among the playing body.

The top brass of Aduana Stars have been unhappy with coach gaffer following their unflattering campaign in the Ghana Premier League this season.

The defending Premier League champions find themselves in the drop zone but have four outstanding games to clear due to their involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Coach Abubakar lost the support of the club's top hierarchy and has finally been pushed out.

He has been unable to unite the team and replicate the bond which led to their Premier League success last term.

There have been a grand scheme to kick him out and their latest 2-1 defeat at Asante Kotoko will court little sympathy for him.

Yusif Abubakar joined the Fire Club in 2016 and helped them to clinch the Ghana Premier League title last season.

GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal top of the club's radar is the former Gor Mahia coach Frank Nuttall, who was sacked by Hearts of  Oak in February over “unsporting” and “unethical” behaviors.

Apart from selling players behind the club’s back, the Scotsman was also accused of having a poor working relationship with his staff and players and condescending attitude towards management.

But it appears he will be the next man in charge of the Dorma-side following the exit of the former All Black Stars coach.

Nuttall finished third in the Ghana Premier League and reached the FA Cup final during his short time with the Ghanaian giants.
