PROFILE
Vietnamese striker Le Cong Vinh continues to rate as one of South East Asia’s leading attacking talents despite moving towards the veteran stage of what has been an illustrious career.

Le Cong Vinh is one of a select group of Vietnamese players to have experience playing professionally outside his homeland.

A short stint in 2009 with Portuguese club Leixoes was followed four years later by a five-month stay at Consadole Sapporo in Japan’s second division and since his return to Vietnam in 2014 he has led the attacking line for Binh Duong.

In 2008 he scored the winning goal in the final of the AFF Suzuki Cup as Vietnam secured the title for the first time and he continues to serve as national team captain.

IMPORTANCE TO TEAM
Le Cong Vinh can play most roles in the attacking third of the field, either as an out-and-out striker, on the flanks or in the role just behind the forward.

His pace over short distances and his ability to cut inside make him a dangerous opponent, as his goal scoring record at both domestic and international level proves.

ONES TO WATCH
Nguyen Anh Duc was named in the 2015 V.League Team of the Year and continues to be a fixture in the side he grew up with as an academy product. Uganda international Moses Oloya adds a powerful presence to the heart of the Binh Duong midfield with Vietnam attacker Nguyen Trong Hoang contributing to the attack.
