AFC MA General Secretaries' Conference aids MA Development

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Member Associations’ (MA) General Secretaries’ Induction course was held in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday - following on from the AFC’s two-day landmark General Secretaries’ Conference.

Dato Windsor John, the AFC General Secretary, said that the event was hugely important as it allowed General Secretaries’ from across the Continent to share knowledge and information as well as being updated on the AFC’s exciting, new initiatives.

Dato Windsor added: “We have a lot of new General Secretaries in Asia and this sort of event adds so much value for them as they can not only learn from the experiences of so many top-level speakers but also from their peer group as well.

"This is an exciting time for football in Asia with so much energy, so many new ideas and so many different approaches coming into the game. The input of these General Secretaries and the information they have collected at this event can only make their Member Associations – and by extension the AFC – stronger.

"Under our Vision and Mission the development of our MAs is a key objective and this sort of conference can only contribute to their growth."

Among the speakers at the Induction Course was the FIFA Chief MAs’ Officer Joyce Cook but also Andreas Krannich, from the globally renowned monitoring company Sportradar.

Alex Phillips, the AFC Head of Asia- Affairs, presented on the latest AFC-UEFA projects while the group also heard from a key AFC Directors and Heads of Department on a range of topics including development, competitions, integrity and international relations.
